"GE Flight Simulator" become "GEFS Online". The new address is www gefs-online com
I had to make this change as my domain name was apparently conflicting with "General Electric" interests. If you ever published some material including GEFS link, I would be glad if you could help me maintaining my search engine ranking by updating blog posts, news, etc... with the new URL.
Now for the good news, the name change comes with a new version and plenty of new features:
- Dynamic suspension on all aircraft
- Runway lighting at night
- Concorde, Cessna 152 and Zlin 50
- Aircraft lights
- An aircraft carrier you can take-off from and land onto.
- Reworked flight models - prop wash
- Reworked multiplayer
- Mach indicator
- Flight Path utility in map (thanks to Gustav)
- Gear, flaps, brakes and spoiler indicators
- Smoke effects on touch down
- Multimonitor support (experimental)
- Performance and stability improvements (hopefully)
- Many other little things you probably will not notice but I worked very hard on ;)

In your 0.8 release notes you mention "propwash effects". I tried a few full power climbs on the props but didn't notice any yawing moment due to slipstream ovre the fin/rudder. Are you already modelling this?

Thanks for the updates. The new planes are great and I really enjoy the lights and touchdown smoke. I am having trouble keeping the planes flying straight for long flights. Espacially the Airbus. It leans to the left and will not stay straight on its own for long periods of time. I'm sure I am missing something. Can someone fill me in please? Thanks.

Xavier: In most of the big planes when you get up to high altitude the plane starts pitching up without me being able to do anything!!!!!

You should add a F4U Corsair and a P-51 Mustang. The planes should explode when you crash. It would be cool if you added guns to the fighter planes.
And sometimes the plane loses control over high altitudes.

The new GEFS is unbelievably greatly improved! Thumbs up! I especially like the new airplanes you've released, as well as the carrier, that you added at the presets.
As you told to hope improving further, maybe this is a good suggestion: try to install parking brakes on the aircrafts, as well as VASI on the runways.

Xavier, I love the Cessna, alpha jet, SU-35, and the A380. If you add a gas gauge and have places to fill up this would be the best flight simulator.
I like all of the planes but the biplane.

i think those "little things" are that tiny wheel on the concorde and realistic suspention systems, before all my planes just plain jumped up and down during landings, epicness man u is epic xavier!

Maybe an A-4 Skyhawk.Not as good as F4U Corsair.
Okay time for the Military jets to fire missiles. it'd be super annoying to get shot out of the sky if you just want to fly but try to make an option to have you pilot name show up in red and your aircraft be affected by enemy fire.
also an Lockheed martin F-35 with vtol would be sick and way better than the herrier jet

This is a fantastic and much overdue effort. I am a minor veteran of FSX and X-Plane. Whole these simulators have much better airplane dynamics, responsiveness, and realism, they fly about in a virtual world. I got bored with this and have been anxiously awaiting an interface between a flight simulator and Google Earth so I can actually do something meaningful while flying... explore actual places that I have never been to. The initial sim embedded in Google Earth was pretty clumsy to fly. GEFS is a major jump forward. I anxiously await further improvements to the realism of the planes and handling, but in the mean time, what a great achievement. I know I am not alone in wanting to actually explore the actual earth while flying, so this project will take off. I would gladly pay for a more sophisticated version of this software, but I guess that cannot happen or Google Earth would pull permission to use their plugin? Anyway, keep up the good work.
I do have a problem getting any joysticks to be recognized on the MAC OS 10.6.8 using Chrome, Safari, Firefox etc. This after downloading the MAC driver. Any suggestions welcome.

This simulation is awesome because its very simple. but please if you have time just try to make it more realistic like emergency warning, turbulence and microbursts, rainfall. it will be nice even ATC's if possible.
Thank you very much for this simulation. I actually study Meteorology and plan to specialise in Aviation meteorology so this simulation may be more helpful to study aviation weather using it.

Please consider adding a regional jet. Such as a 737, a320, md80, etc. There are already 2 "jumbos," fighters, historical, and even a balloon. I think this is the one thing missing from the simulator right now. Thanks for the consideration.

I agree. There are too many fighter jets and large carriers in this simulator. Maybe a Bombardier Dash-8 or a 737 would be a nice improvement.

Center would help on landing and I have issues with the helicopter it tips as I lift off and I can not get lined up with the carrier to land but can take off nicely and I love the AREA 51
a gas gauge that is optional to have to stop or it ogoes lonnnnnng distances without refuling would make it the best but some people have problems landing and cant land all the time and crash and have to restart

Jared Dory here and I think a option for war and there is certain areas that if u do not have war checked it moves ur plane around it so u dont get blown up and when have it checked it pauses and has a sign above it that sais war zone 1,2,3ect. and yea
how about there is a button that for winter puts skis down over the wheels and in summer there is a button to make the float go down
dont understand it either and there should be a air traffic control landing and taking off things and u have to request landing and takeoff and because it shows ur name on aircraft u do not have to say where because there is different towers and a emergency land button/ autopilot

Its an amazing game.I started playing it a few days ago and now i'm obsessed. You can pick anywhere on earth to fly by and also there is a good selection of planes. You can also pick runways, theres one where you can tae off on a carrier. And best of all.IT'S FREE.

I think you guys should add a little bit more more planes to the simulator like; P-51 Mustang and P-51 Mustang (Red Tails), A-10 Warthog, F-117 NightHalk, and the F-22 Raptor. But I also think you should add an Automatic Day/Night time scale.
Hey Xavier, great job with the update/s by the way, just wanted to say that, to add to realism of GEFS, I know that lots of people do it to help out, but we really need a permanent ATC (air traffic control) either a real person, or (even better) a pre-programmed Artificial Intelligence ATC modification!
